He is a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo School of Dentistry. Has the title of Specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the Brazilian College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CBCTBMF). He holds a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine), MS (Master of Science), and PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), all obtained at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He is the author of 157 full-length articles published in scientific journals, 8 books, and 23 book chapters. His areas of expertise include maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, pathological lesions of the jaws, temporomandibular disorders, and surgery of the temporomandibular joint. He is head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service at Hospital M. "Dr. Arthur R. de Saboya", São Paulo, Brazil. He has presented lectures at congresses in several countries.
